About B&W

The Bitch & The Wardrobe (B&W) is a concierge closet organization service in the Washington, D.C.-ish area, focused on helping young professionals with small closets and big wardrobes make the best of their space, and doing so on a budget.  B&W was born out of a need I saw from my own experiences hopping from rental apartment to rental apartment, and the experiences of friends in the same situation.

I've been helping friends organize their spaces for a while, and realized that what I do is about more than just coming in and helping you figure out where to put your stuff.  The work we do together will be as much an organization for your mind as it is for your space.  If you don’t like being asked “Why?” repeatedly, turn back now!  I’m not going to make you get rid of everything (or anything, truly), but I am going to make you figure out why you want to keep something, or why you want to set up your closet a certain way.  Ultimately, the weight placed on the “why” is up to you, and we’ll work together to get you the best result for your space, your wardrobe, and your budget.

So what's the "concierge" thing?  B&W is more than just helping you edit your wardrobe and belongings, or helping you organize your place; it's a full-circle service, from editing to organizing to donation and consignment.  Once we’ve edited down your belongings, I'll help you figure out how to put everything back in a logical way.  You'll also probably have piles of stuff to get out of your way.  We’ll work together to inventory the pieces for consignment and charitable donations, and we’ll fill out the consignment and donation paperwork together.  But then it’s all out of your hair:  I’ll drop everything off at the appropriate places, and all that’s left for you to do watch the consignment money roll in, and submit the tax receipts to your accountant for a nice write-off.  But I don’t do trash, ok?  Anything we decide to throw out, that’s on you.  I can’t do everything.
