There are some things that are part of every B&W experience, but the way in which they happen is up to you.

Here's the basic structure:

First, you'll fill out the Closet Conundrum form.  This will help us both.  It will give me the basics about what you’re looking for and also help you think about what it is you want.

Then, I’ll come over and do a consultation.  I’ll evaluate your closet and storage space to see what we’re working with.  Then we’ll talk about what you want to get out of the process, including whether new organizational accessories might be in order.

Finally, we'll get to work.  Yes, I said we, as in you and me.  We’ll sort through everything; decide what to keep, consign, and donate; and then, put the keepers back in a new, organized way.  We'll do it together so that you learn how to keep it up when I'm not there.

Once everything is put away, I’ll take your leftovers and play concierge.  You don't have to lift a finger, except to cash the check from the consignment store, and to take your donation receipts to your accountant at tax season.

However, the basic structure is open to variation.

If, after the consultation you decide that this isn’t for you, that’s cool.  We can still be friends.  I’m not going to force my way into your closet and make you do stuff just because I did a consultation.  That’s really the point of the consultation – figuring out if this is a game you want to play.

When we start the actual work is up to you. I think it’s best to make this decision after the consultation, because we'll both have a better idea of what needs to be done, and I'll be able to guesstimate how much time it will take.

You don’t have to do the concierge thing.  If you want to do your own consigning or donation, that’s up to you.  I’m here to make your life easier; you can take advantage of as few or as many services as you want.

You don’t have to do what I want.  Just because I like using velvet hangers and storing shoes in boxes doesn’t mean you have to do the same.  We’ll figure out what you like and what you want, and then how to make that work for you.

We’ll make it work for your budget.  Consultations are a flat fee, and everyone has to pay them.  But after that, there’s some flexibility.  We’ll discuss whether an hourly rate would work best, or whether a flat fee for a set amount of time will get the job done.
